I bought a used model 3 a couple years ago. Almost to 100k miles on it today. So far so good! Saves a lot in fuel. Can’t wait to be able to afford solar so I can charge it off grid. I have debt to pay off first. Hopefully in the next few years!

Very good. Great for a full sun location with lots of room. These are most of the people in your audience so that makes sense. Things are different on boats... and the same. they do take a lot more thought. 400 watt panels on a sailboat are generally not a good idea... though I see them often enough generally in 12 parallel configuration. I have found using two serial strings (or more) where each serial string has all of it's panels in the sun at the same time. Cut cell technology has given us one of two things: A) a normal sized panel with some shade compensation (though generally not in a way that makes sense on a boat) or B) Smaller panels such as a 100W panel that is less than 30inX30in. These small panels are more expensive than a 200watt 30x60 (ish) panel... but it means I have room for 24v (42voc) on each side of the boat rather than just 12v.(21VOC-ish). This is compared to most boat systems that end up even with 1000watt systems having a 12v(21voc) input to their MPPT controller .... which they have to oversize to get to the current rating. Unfortunately, while most portable refrigeration systems are 12/24, the navigation instrument manufactures have not got the same memo and so a 12v system on a small boat is still what we have. So the flat surface I have is 60inx60in but much of the time one half of that is shaded by the boom and sail. So I can't count on a 400 watt system but rather two 200watt systems of which I know at least one of them will be producing at any one time. Small panels are the thing for boats for best output... I would guess that having two mppt controllers would also pull more power out of the shaded side too but I have limited space for mounting such things. A lot of the small mppt controllers are the same size for different current ratings too, which doesn't help. However, 200watts is still pretty good for my needs. I can almost make do with the 75watts I get from the system on the boat when I bought it (350wats of 12v panels into a PWM charger) :P

One thing that frustrates me about these videos is that you show grid hookup at the beginning, and then you imply that you're testing its off-grid (inverter) capabilities....but its not clear. If you're testing it's capabilities with grid support, then these tests are misleading for many of your viewers.

Can you test some three-phase configurations? As these single-phase inverters become capable to run every imaginable household load and you want more interesting demonstrations to show off, you would find that three-phase power is a capability that would be very interesting to add and not have to pay the premium from the power company to get it (if it is available at all from the utility company).

Will just low key added a reliable cheap backup powersource to his system, but retains his online disdain against fossil fuel systems 🤣Oh no, he just did it for a youtube demonstration 🙃

Hey will really like your content, so I have a commercial spot office and mechanics garage, in your opinion would they EG4 18K be an option or is the a commercial unit that you could recommend ? The office is a 30’ x 40’ space so well be running A/C all day and the garage section will have a car lift along with a large compressor and some inverter type welding plants, it would also be running a water pump to supply the whole compound, I was thinking of getting 3 18K and then 1 large battery each and then expand the batteries when I can afford to

even though my plans are for a power "shed", being sealed units means I might not need to work as hard at closing the envelope and conditioning the space. plus, any thing that helps keep critters out of the critical bits, is always a good thing.

Electric or fuel cars cannot save us or make any difference. The same is true for solar panels. The problem is not political or environmental (they are part of, but not the main problem). Great Video. I would advise placing a bushing/grommet where the battery cables are entering to prevent the metal from rubbing the insulation off over time.

what life battery would you recommend for a jeep running a 24v 60watt panel a PWS charger and running a 12v fridge? Also am I better off running a 12v fridge or an inverter and a 110v fridge? I can upgrade the panel to 100w and should I change the PWS charger to MPPT and if so which one? Im on a budget so please advise for the least expensive. I will not be using it all the time. The battery will live in the jeep and it does get hot in there should I put a disconnect of some kind on the battery or waste of time? I have a small inverter now but only for really light loads like a air pump or emergency I dont really use it. (its 100w) You are the only channel I have found that actually knows what youre talking about. Sorry lots of questions LOL

I laugh at the forum posters in chit chat off topic who have 60kw of solar claim they didn't take a tax rebate because they are against subsidies for green energy. The green energy industry solar, EV, lithium batteries would never have happened if it wasn't for government subsidies and tax rebates. R&D business's are not going to invest in these industries without assurance there will be long term market for them. That is precisely what government should be doing jump staring innovation and technology for the future. EV has shown it's capable the only downsides is the range, but it won't be long before they are able to match a gas engine car.
